KUUMAT (Kathmandu University Undergraduate Management Admission Test)

(Don't get confused with KUMAT. KUMAT is a similar sort of admission test but for the graduate-level admissions at Kathmandu University, Faculty of Management.)

 The Kathmandu University Undergraduate Management Admission test, a.k.a. KUUMAT is the first phase of admission test given by the Kathmandu University (KU) of Nepal to choose eligible students for admission in undergraduate level programs (BBA, BBIS, and BHTM) under the faculty of management. The main purpose of this KUUMAT test is to select best candidates for Management studies at KU. Passing KUUMAT test proves your eligibility for admissions at KUSOM.

KUUMAT Exam Pattern 

KUUMAT test consists of multiple choice questions. There is negative scoring. For each wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted. That mean 4 (four) wrong answers neutralize 1 (one) correct answer.

Cutoff Score

The cutoff scores for KUUMAT entrance test are:

  • A score of 50 percentile or above in Kathmandu University Undergraduate Management Admission Test (KUUMAT).
  • A score of 50 percentile or above in analytical writing and personal interview after passing KUUMAT with the required score.


Candidates (both Nepali and Non-Nepali) with a minimum of 50 percent in aggregate or CGPA of 2.0 on the scale of 4.0 in 10+2 or intermediate or equivalent level study program form universities/boards recognized by Kathmandu University are eligible.

Note: Applicants who have completed the qualifying educational level but are waiting for the final results may apply on a provisional basis, provided they have already taken the final annual examinations of the program and passed all previous year papers.

Curricular structure

KUUMAT will be based on the following assessment domains:

  • General SAT
  • SAT Mathematics Test

The KUUMAT shall comprise of a single test, comprising of both the assessment domains.

30% of marks in plus two or equivalent is calculated as:

Per subject Grade A    2.5
